RPJ Band Play Barcelona

The RPJ Band were flown out to play a very special gig for internet giants IFS.

The Venue for this event was the incredible ‘W’ hotel in the beautiful city of Barcelona.

The band left the drizzle of London and swapped it for the sun kissed beach of Barcelona, and all of the band were united in their praise for The ‘W’ hotel,…quite simply the best, most contemporary yet ultra cool hotel in the world.

The RPJ boys were joined on this gig by the incredible artist Newton Faulkner, who was nothing short of amazing… armed simply with a guitar and a foot pedal operated bass drum and a beautiful voice he enthralled the multinational audience with stunning renditions of his songs and was the perfect pre-cursor to The RPJ Band.

The Boys took to the stage and within seconds the dance floor was full and a fantastic gig ensued, the RPJ boys ripped through song after song and had all the room completely Rocking.

The event Organiser tweeted this mid set:

” The RPJ Band are raising the roof off the W Hotel late into the night!,…they are a force of nature!, people dancing everywhere!”

Rick the RPJ’s front-man having realised that the room was made up of mostly European delegates was speaking in fluent German (yes we were impressed too!), and somewhat broken Swedish to the crowd!…ensuring that everyone was on side, and no one felt left out.

The amazing thing about this gig was that the crowd never stopped jumping and singing the whole way through!…and the band played over 2hrs and following 3 encores finally left the stage utterly shattered!

Dave Commented ” That was incredible,…a totally euphoric evening!…we played like demons the whole set and the crowd were brilliant all the way through!”

Tired but happy!

A very tired but elated band boarded the plane back to the UK but something tells me it wont be long until The RPJ Band are back……

The RPJ Band organised an event industry networking evening in conjunction with London’s hottest new music venue ‘Under The Bridge’ and the R and R Agency.

Rachel Gretton Director of the UK’s most innovative Entertainments Agency and Joanne Hunter at Chelsea FC, couldn’t have expected the simply incredible amount of event industry professionals that came along,…over 450 of the UK’s most influential, agencies, bookers, event planners, international brand managers, company directors and many more Event industry professionals from all over the country packed into the beautiful venue to sample the food, the ambiance and some sterling performances from some of the R and R agencies brilliant Roster.

Attendees were treated to cocktails, food, more cocktails! and then performances from Oliver Darley, whose dulcet tones set the tone for an amazing evening.

The RPJ Band then took to the stage, and did what they did best,..rocked the house down!… and even at an event attended by event professionals the dance floor was jumping!…Rick commented ” what a simply incredible evening, some of the most influential people in event land and some of the worlds biggest brands were here tonight,…and everyone was jumping dancing and singing,…utterly awesome, thanks must go to Rachel and Joanna on creating London’s best Event Networking evening!”

To finish the night The R and R agency had the beautiful DJ Lora rock the house down with her glamorous djing style.

The RPJ Band were honored to be a part of such a great evening and look forward to doing it again soon!

The RPJ Band Uk’s best Party Rock and awards band were very happy when Radisson hotels called and asked them to be the headline act at their hugely prestigious ‘Edwards’ Awards.

The RPJ Mad Hatters!

The venue was the incredibly luxurious Radisson Edwardian Heathrow, and the theme, yes you guessed it was ‘Alice in Wonderland’….now a theme in general is followed slightly, however The folks at Radisson never do anything by halves and my word did they embrace the theme…

Rick blatantly scared at meeting The real Mad Hatter!

There was a 10 ft Alice, Bunny rabbits with clocks, the scariest mad hatter we ave ever seen and thats before we saw the stage, which was fully covered in grass with mushrooms sprouting out from each size and a huge Cheshire cat grinning down on the band…utterly amazing!

The Band were cheered onto the stage all dressed as a Mad Hatter ensemble, and then launched into a truly crazy high energy set….the guest might not have all been wearing hats but they were certainly mad!!!

Incredible 'Alice in Wonderland' Stage!!!

After 1 hr 50 minutes of high energy classics mingled with rocked up pop and clever mash-ups the RPJ boys left the stage to chants of ‘WE WANT MORE, WE WANT MORE’…Rick commented ‘ Well it was a first to play on a grass stage!, and what an audience!,…they cheeered us when we went on stage and chanted for us when we went off,…what a great night, we love Radisson!”

The RPJ Band and management look forward to a long relationship with Radisson hotels and we are already looking forward to the next event we play for them.

The RPJ Band were asked to perform at a very special fundraising ball in Warwickshire, but rather than us tell you about the night,….here’s what the organiser and all round inspirational fellow Tony Lewis had to say:

This was a Black tie Ball for “353…” in Warwick, 280 guests, of all ages, raising money and spirits and remembering the service, dedication and sacrifice of the Parachute Regiment, especially the loss of Conrad Lewis … “you know who you need to close this years Ball (says Nigel Conrad’s Godfather and WRG Director) let’s ask Rick and the boys of the RPJ band to close the night”. What a combination, and how inspired, the band agreed to play and were truly magnificent, throwing everything they had into a gig that began to mean as much to them as it did to us, a truly great 90 minute set of songs that had everyone on the floor, for the entire night.

The Fantastic Crowd at The 353 Ball

Many compliments, facebook posts, Tweets and bookings for next year, later and we were all delighted that Rick and the boys could support us. “was I really dancing to Ricks version of smells like teen spirit at the end of the night”, says a 45 year old Managing Director …… of course you were, this is the 353 ball, our motto is “Get Busy living”, The band knew what that meant, played in that spirit and the audience knew how they were to respond, Brilliant night, thanks to you all and see you again we hope. The RPJ Band were very honored to be asked to headline the Momentum Ski festival weekend in Crans Montana, Switzerland

Their performance was the culmination of a fantastic weekend of Ski Racing, Comedy performances, incredible Apres ski parties with phenomenal bands and financial sector conferences with some of the best business minds in Europe attending.

Along side a huge contingent from some of the most prestigious financial institutions, there were also a smattering of Celebrities in the shape of Chef Heston Blumenthal, Olympic gold medalist Colin Jackson, Comedian Marcus Brigstock Olympic Downhill gold medallist Tommy Mo and the surprise secret band at the Apres Ski were the amazing brit award nominated ‘The Feeling’, who went down a storm playing outdoors at the bottom of the main slope!

The final evening saw the gala dinner where all tiredness was forgotten and in short all hell broke loose!!!,…The RPJ Band went on to a rousing cheer and proceeded to raise the roof with an incredible performance that saw stage diving and copius amounts of singing and air guitaring by the audience!

An incredible weekend, which if you like skiing, drinking, partying, comedy and rocking out is a huge must for 2014, we shall be there will you?

The RPJ band were booked to deliver a searing set following the huge event that is The Publican Awards.

The event took place at one of the bands favorite venues, The beautiful and iconic Grovesnor House hotel on london’s prestigious Park Lane.

The Decor was immense, never has the Great Room been transformed so much with huge LED Screens what appeared to be huge beer barrels either side of the stage, The evening was hosted by Rob Brydon, who was absolutely hilarious and set the mmod perfectly for a great night.

So after all the awards were given out The RPJ Band took to the stage and got everyone rocking, and by the end of the set the Ball room was heaving, jumping singing a long and chanting for more.

Rick had this to say, “everyone was remarkably well behaved despite there being copious amounts of free beer!,…it was a great night and as always we love playing to such a responsive crowd!”

A truly fantastic night, and the first of a string of gigs at the Grovesnor for the boys!

The RPJ Band were asked to play at the prestigious Brighton Grand Hotel for the manufacturing giants ‘Flowserve’, the party to celebrate a stellar year had a fantastic ‘underwater theme’ complete with huge jellyfish chandeliers!

A blog doesn’t normally write itself however, in this instance we thought it would be nice to show the clients email to us the following day, it pretty much says everything about how absolutely brilliant the night was.

so here it is…..

OMG what an excellent evening.
The RPJ Band were absolutely spectacular.
My email box is ready to explode with all the emails from staff saying what an amazing night it was and that the band were the absolute making of the evening.
We are already being asked to book them for next year.
As the event organiser I always look around very carefully for our entertainment and live music, last year we had a 12 piece band and I always use the best agencies around in order to get the best BUT none of them could ever compete with the RPJ Band. I am at a loss for words to really describe the energy and stage presence that they brought to the event, sublime.
They did an incredible job keeping our crowd on the dance floor, never been known in previous years.
They are a very professional group of guys and so easy to deal with. An absolute pleasure meeting them and The Grand, Brighton well and truly rocked.
I have absolutely no reservations about recommending them for any event and will be booking them again myself.
Just a shame the night had to end….

We love playing events where, the crowd are ready to go crazy from the first moment we come on stage, and at the Wynnstay Hunt Ball this was most certainly the case.

The gig was set in the most beautiful frosty Shropshire countryside and was the last gig in a run of three gigs in one week which saw the RPJ Band play to over 10,000 people!

Any thoughts of fatigue were soon forgotten, this band always gives 100% from the first chord and spurred on by the amazing energy from the crowd Rick and the boys delivered a set that had everyone singing along and going generally nuts!

RPJ Rocking the Wynnstay Hunt Ball

The Band were also Joined on this gig by Paul Stewart, who is better known as the drummer for the platinum selling Brit award winning band ‘The Feeling’.

Paul had this to say about the gig, ” well I have never hit the drums quite so hard!,…I have blisters all over my hands, how amazing was that?!”, rick followed this with, ” I have to say that was one of the craziest gigs we have ever played, the audience were fantastic, There’s definitely something about Hunt Balls, when they party they REALLY party!!!, at one point I even saw girls on guys shoulders and everything!,…Wembley Stadium would have been proud of that reaction!”

This was a fitting end to a quite incredible week for the countries busiest most unique and best event and party band, and the boys were all incredibly tired but happy, however we only have a few days off before we do it all again!

No rest for the best!

RPJ rocking Cisco Live!

The RPJ Band were the headline act at the annual Cisco Systems Live! event at London’s Excel Exhibition centre.

This was the annual conference for the internet giants, and there was no expense spared on giving their hard working staff an absolutely incredible party.

The Theme was ‘Around The World’ complete with different themed areas including Caribbean Area complete with a Steel band and Limbo professionals, through to Balearic chill-out bars and frothy milkshake laden American Diners, and our particular favorite,..Brighton pier, complete with fish and chips and a spiral tower slide!

The stage itself was utterly incredible with production and lighting that would have put most major bands touring production to shame!…and to top it off the stage was wrapped around by and enormous curved screen upon which the most amazing graphics and live action was screened; in short this was the party to end all parties.

Amazing stage, lights and wrap around screen!, not to mention 7,000 people rocking out!

The Boys were supported by a fantastic Reggae Band, following a quick change over the RPJ took to the stage,….and proceeded to thoroughly rock the roof off!

7,000 conference attendees, jumped, danced, waved their hands and sung along at the top of their voices!,….it was simply incredible!

After whipping the crowd into a frenzy it was time to introduce the band’s special guest Rick Parfitt of Status Quo!

Rick snr launched into the intro of ‘Caroline’  on a separate podium with huge pyrotechnics blasting up into the sky and then he joined the RPJ band on stage. The Boys played a blistering 25 minute set of Quo classics together and they all left the stage with the crowd loudly chanting for more!

The Client had this to say ” I have never seen so much energy in the room like that at any of our events before, we also have never had so many people stay right until the end!, amazing job guys!”

The Band were overwhelmed by the amazing response from the massive crowd, Rick Jnr had this to say, ” That was so special for so many reasons, for one it’s not often that you get the chance to share the stage with your father, and its also just amazing to play an event indoors that could rival any major festival stage for production!,… but most of all the crowd were something else, simply incredible! Cisco…YOU ROCK!….I want to go back on and do it all again!”

A truly memorable night was had by all, and the band look forward to playing more amazing events for Cisco.
